Legit on repeat. Hip-hop is black again!
(via apostrophe9)
Few songs have traveled across cultures (It was written by a Mexican, made popular by an Italian-American, and covered by the African American, Lebanese, and Canadian alike) and generations (from 50’s swing to 21st century Top 40’s) as well as this song has. Props to that. Enjoy my favorite rendition if you’re needing a break.
“Sometimes the mask is to hide and sometimes it’s to play at being something you’re not so you can watch the reactions of people who believe the mask is real. Because that’s when they reveal themselves.”
I just found this quote I had written down from Jay-Z’s book while thumbing through an old notebook. Separetely, I have been echoing a line from a song in my head all day that goes, “I don’t wanna be me anymore.”
It seems like the theme of my day has become being someone different. Wouldn’t mind leaving Dani behind.

Life hacking
I have become borderline obsessed recently with figuring out in what conditions my brain functions best. I’ve rearranged rooms, carefully chosen desktop and phone backgrounds, and visited new places in almost-desperate attempts to improve my productivity. I’m still clinging to the hope that there is some one or two things I will try that will drastically improve my cognitive abilities.
The experiments have paid off in the past. I figured out a body and comforter position paired with a train of thought that lets me knock out in less than 10 minutes anywhere and at any level of tiredness. This one will reach it’s full potential of usefulness if I ever figure out that key to waking up!
I discovered a new “life-hack” (I think I might actually hate this term but it does its job) recently: putting white noise on blast on my headphones has allowed me to do what I once considered torturous: reading for class (especially before lectures).
So I will continue experimenting and refining in hopes I can streamline these life necessities and then hopefully I can get on to what I really want to do in life!
Them eyes doe. I’m in love
swimskinnyinthesea asked: Which suburb of Chicago? Just curious cause I go to Northwestern.
